Happy Thanksgiving!

We took Ness to play at the Mall which is his favorite place to play. It doesnt matter how tired he is he runs around and plays with the other kids.
Last week (or the week before?) was Thanksgiving. We had so much fun! Ness did super, slept VERY well (he was really worn out) and had lots of fun. We were gone almost a whole week but he didnt seem to mind. We got to see almost ALL of our family and I think that overall it was a A plus! This is the first Thanksgiving (in a while) where we went to Leesville/DeRidder for Thanksgiving (usually we go for Christmas), and it was fun for a change.
Above Poppy is giving Ness and Natalie a ride in the wheel barrow. Ness got to do a lot of things for the first time.
Below is a VERY tired one-nap baby. This was when we first got to my parents. He had taken one early nap and then was awake the whole trip (didnt cry!), this was after bath and before bedtime. And it was the only time the whole week that he had trouble getting to sleep...it was more than likely from him being over-tired.
Big Cheese in Leesville. I am not sure why he thought this moldy deer was so fun..but he really did.
The Thornton's! This was the best picture we got of the family (actually the ONLY decent one) and my belly/everything looks HUGE...
I just think that this is a very funny family picture. Especially how happy Ness looks to be holding a random dog...and if you look closely you can see our wild mutt in the background eating Turkey innards.
Ness and Aunt Ashley.
The whole crew!
Ness flies through the air! We had a very fun walk in the woods. Ness really enjoyed it. We saw a HUGE rat, and when Michael screamed the rat got so scared he ran into a metal post. Then we saw a snake that wouldn't run away but did lunge at us once....after all that is when Ness flew in the air...
Below is Ness with Poppy and a Jack in the box, which is a toy that he REALLY liked (those always scared me).
Cousins! Minus baby Bronwen (to little for bathing with big kids) and two babies in Utero. Next Thanksgiving there wont be enough room for the 7 cousins....all within 4 years!
My parents Christmas Picture. It turned out pretty well considering how many kids are involved. Ness is smiling because right before I snapped the picture we all clapped and fake laughed...all of the others were just confused by that...guess Ness is used to having weird parents....
Ness and Daddy had SO much fun on the trampoline.
He laughed the entire time.
So overall it was fun! We cant wait for Christmas. We are REALLY hoping to stay in the Baton Rouge area (minus the maybe trip to Winnsboro)...but we will see how that goes. Our cute little house is all decorated (pictures next time) and looks SOOO cozy! Our Christmas tree is up and Ness really enjoys looking at the lights. I love this time of year. And after Christmas our dear friends that we spent A LOT of time with in Japan are coming to visit from Ohio for a week! And David Barnes will be here too! ALSO Michael is going to use up his vacation days and take a week off! Cant wait!
Baby #2 still has no name, although I can clearly feel that he is growing. His movements are less like bubbles and more like shoves and punches. I still cant feel his body parts through my skin when I press on my belly; I think he's still small enough to hide. According to the baby growth chart he is around 1.5 pounds and almost 10 inches long. This pregnancy is FLYING by..yikes! I am now 25 weeks. We are getting more nervous and more excited, when we are rigging up Ness's sleep spot at different houses we say "HOW IN THE WORLD are we going to do this for two babies???) Oh well, people have had more kids and survived so I guess we will too!

Time for CUTE-NESSSSS!

November already!?

Hello all! Isnt this weather wonderful? Above is Ness with his "girlfriend" Evie. They have been able to hang out together since they were practically newborns, but they are just finally starting to play together. Its fun to watch them. They will also BOTH be getting new siblings at the SAME time (due date is separated just a few days). Evie gets a sister, Ness gets a brother. Evie's mom and I talked about switching our babies since she wanted a boy and I thought a girl would be fun but then we decided that our kids look QUITE a bit like us and people may notice...hehe.
Uh OHH. Ness and Daddy playing games! Ness literally sat on Mikes lap for 10 min (until I took him to take a bath) with that remote! Anyone that knows Ness knows that sitting still is not something he EVER does...so sort of scary right?
My helper! I was making shepards pie and got him to "clean" the spoon..yum!
Cheese face!
This is my homemade sushi! It wasnt bad at all.
I cant believe how big Ness is getting...sniff sniff. He was eating peanut butter (his fav) and carrots.
Ness enjoying taking apart Pumpkin Man and Pumpkin Boy....Pokey and Ness played quite a while like this...it was fun.

So how is everything else..hmmm... I am now 5 months pregnant! Its amazing, and it has FLOWN by. Next week is Thanksgiving, next month is Christmas! Yikes! After all the Christmas/New Years stuff is over I will have 2.5 months to get ready for #2, man...time goes by way to fast. We have been busy around here as usual. We have stayed home quite a bit due to sewing and stuff..but this week we went to a few activities (bible study, play date, park), and that was nice. I am caught up with my sewing and that feels good. I know once Thanksgiving is over I will be busy again but its nice for a few days off.
Oh, my sister let us borrow her video monitor and it is the BEST thing! We use it to "spy" on Ness while he is sleeping. It is really cool, especially since I dont think I have ever got to actually watch him sleep. He moves constantly but never cries. And we thought he was taking 2 naps a day...we realize now that he takes one nap and for the other he "plays"/rolls around/kicks his legs/changes pacifiers but never makes a peep! It is kind of a stress reliever bc now we can look at the screen to see if he is awake (if we need to go somewhere or something). It is really fun to watch...we may have to consider getting one for baby #2...I feel like life would have been a ton easier had I had this all along.....

Anyways, of course I will leave you with some SUPER cute-Ness

SUPERMAN!

Sooo..this was Halloween week! We did trick or treating, went to the fair, and all sorts of fun stuff! I also made Ness's Thanksgiving and Christmas outfits (the christmas one has pants but I didnt get a picture). I am VERY proud of the turkey...VERY proud...so proud I may make him start wearing it now! For the christmas one I thought about getting "Merry Christmas" monogrammed on the bottom, I will see today how much that costs (when I go to get a bag monogrammed).
Ness trick or treating from a guy in a robe . He just doesnt understand why they are giving him candy..although he does like to eat the candy (dont worry, we limit it big time). He feel on his face in the very beginning which threw of the "air" of the entire trip but it was still fun. The neighborhood was PACKED with kids. Next year will be more fun for Ness I am sure though.
Getting ready to head out, check out charlies costume! I made it for pokey, but we forgot pokey...so charlie wore it long enough for the picture...it kept falling.
SUPERMAN! He was being goofy (imagine that) and let me get this picture which I LOVE.
The start of his "muscle" face.
This is at the fair. They had a really nice petting zoo (although it may not have been nice a few days into the fair..lol). Ness enjoyed petting the goats.
Sheep! (right?)
And he LOVED the carousel, after he rode it and would see it again he would point to go back. And just as we were going back they closed it for a little while...sad. Maybe next year!?

We are enjoying life with a 15 month old/aka Ness. He is so funny sometimes, and I am learning that he has no problem being the center of attention and might actually enjoy it. He is also passive, if a friend takes away a toy, he finds another. Non-aggressive and super silly. And he is still tactile, LOVES to play with small things, just pick them up, put them back. He is not destructive, and although he "reads" books all day he has never torn one up. Sweet kid.

Speaking of sweet kids...we went to have our ultrasound last week and we found out its ANOTHER BOY! I was shocked out of my mind, I made her check again and again. This little boy didnt give us any good shots though (ness was giving cute pictures) and made it difficult to see all his little parts. I thought I might be a little sad, but really I am excited. I dont have to buy ANYTHING and I Ness will get a new bed-set (that I make) and room for christmas (we plan to paint it and decorate). The new baby will used Ness's old set. We found another bed on craigslist for $125, its just as nice as Ness's and his was $400! We also found a $125 stroller for $15! I cleaned it up and it will look like new! AND it holds a carseat, that is the best feature, I always wished that I had a stroller to hold Ness's carseat...there were times we would strap it on with bungee cords (not the proudest moment as parents..lol). But I am glad I waited, bc had I bought a single I would have just had to buy a double a few months later.
Anyways! I think I need to eat some breakfast before the family wakes up and demands food.
Adios!

I leave you with Cute-Nesses for everyone!

Our Week

Welll...maybe its been more than one week. But still progress! Better than no posting in a month! This week we tried out a "vegetarian" diet. I am trying to think of ways to save money AND be very healthy. We had multiple vegetables every day. It was quite nice. Above is "roasted veggies"..and they were just as wonderful as they look. Mrs. Cindy (my mother-in-law) makes this all the time..and it was so easy we will definitely do it again. We did have some meat. I had a REALLY good roast that I had made last week, I froze the leftovers and we had that over rice one day (along with the roasted veggies).
Above is a vegetable soup I made, it has about 5 vegetables in it. I cooked them all, blended them up, added some whole milk and cheddar cheese and WALA, delicious soup! I pulled out my bread machine, made some homemade bread and we called it a meal. It was great. And we didnt get hungry later. So that was nice. And Ness LOVES bread and vegetables (I kept his whole so he could pick them up and eat them) so he was happy too.
The two "men" in my house are chocolate nuts. And I found this AWESOME blog (www.themuffinmyth.com) that has all sorts of healthy ideas. This was one of them. These are zucchini chocolate muffins. They were supposed to have quoina (darn! cant spell it!) in them but instead I put pureed sweet potatoes, butternut squash, and pears (leftover baby food). It was good, although Ness liked them more than Michael...
And last but not least, this was my attempt at making "cheese-nips". They tasted fine to me..but good old OCD Michael didnt like them. I told him had I cut them into squares and dyed them orange he would have eaten them (and he would have!). Oh well, old habits die hard...hey, maybe if I put a carrot in them...hmmm.....

Ok, before you get worried. I KNOW I need protein. We all do. And we do eat some meats. But next week I am going to try hard to make sure we get protein other places as well as in the little meat we do eat. Like beans, nuts, eggs...I will keep you updated.
But on the plus side, Michael and I had our blood tested for life insurance and we are both as healthy as horses! yay!
Above is my little helper. We got this pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. The website I mentioned above told us how to "process" it..so that's what we did. We now have 4 bags of pumpkin in the freezer. I am not sure what I will do with it (besides muffins and soup) but it will be something delicious!
This is the parade we went to. Ness was sleepy but did well. He had to be held tightly during the loud parts but he loved the beads.
Look at these cute sneakers! I found them in a box labeled "boys shoes" in my shed. I didn't think they would EVER fit him...so cute!
Ok, so Ness's hair was getting a little bit out of control. I had been putting off cutting it (for the 4th time!) but then I thought of a brilliant idea! This is what I came up with. It worked like a charm, he didnt even look up while I cut his hair, no mess-ups!
Afterward he took a dunk in the Halloween bin, he thought this was pretty fun too. Then he ran around the yard naked for about 15 min.
Last picture! Healing Place has this super park open to the public! Ness (and Michael) LOVED it! It was very clean and wonderful. We will go again.

Soo..what else. Next Thursday is our big "anatomy scan", yes, we will find out the gender then. I am more nervous than excited. BUT I did start to feel baby move last week so at least I know her/his heart is still beating! I guess whatever news we get we will be able to handle (gender, anatomy issues, etc) but keep us and baby #2 in your prayers!
My business is doing well still...I had a few weeks off but its picking up now..so thats good!
Well, thats all I can think of at the moment....have a great weekend!

Of course I wont forget the "cute-ness"!

Busy Weekend

Above is the pie I am so proud of. I thought pies were really hard to make, and was kind of dreading it BUT it wasnt bad at all! I did everything from scratch including picking the pears at my grandmas house. Pretty cool eh?
So I was going to type this blog yesterday BUT I sliced the top of my finger with a knife and that made typing difficult. SOO I am doing it today, the only problem is that I now hear Ness waking up....gotta hurry...
We had a very busy yet fun weekend. Ashley came down and we carved pumpkins, it was nice, and we hope to do it EVERY year!
Ness slept through the carving but woke just in time to get his picture taken with Ashley's pumpkin.

We took Ness to the pumpkin patch in Hammond and it was really fun! The weather was pretty hot (and next year we will be SURE to go when its cool) but I still think he enjoyed himself. Even though his face was a red as a cherry..that boy is not good at handling the heat....
Family picture!
Ness spent a lot of time on Daddy's shoulders...

This was a fun game where you pump the water to make the duck move.
This was his favorite. It was a giant bouncy pillow type thing. He LOVED it!
Daddy loved it too...
Merry go round...
It was fun! Ness is getting so old and is enjoying things like this..man, I love this age!
Ness has been sleeping wonderfully, I think its because he plays outside at least once a day (he loves the outdoors). Ok, Ness is officially awake and since he has now slept 13 hours I'd say its time for him to get up...but before we goooooo:
here are some cute-ness videos!
