Happy 9 months Ness!

We are now in May and our baby Ness is 9 months old! Can you believe that he has been with us out of the womb as long as he was in? Its unbelievable. And good news is that he is just about right on track developmental wise (if you remember right, he was behind for a while because of the chub). He now is a speed crawler, can blow air out of his mouth, has two teeth, and is basically the cutest baby ever. He hasnt gained weight in a while and has only grown about an inch, the weight is tapering off. But hes a good boy, LOVE HIM!

I recently decided that he needed a cover to fit over the shopping cart because of all the gross stuff that hangs out there. So I bought a pattern and made him one. Dang pattern made the thing to small! But he can still sit in it and it covers the front bar that he likes to eat so I guess its ok. It also fits perfectly over those dirty little high chairs at restaurants. I could make it again and make it bigger..or I could even just add some material (which I might do one day) but for now its fine.

I have finished 4 out of 8 pillows that I needed to finish. I forgot to take pictures of the first two (a round one and a square one same color as the blue one here but with self piping), but here are the two I just finished. I think overall they came out pretty good..and this means money in my pocket! I have been so busy with sewing, I have another craft fair this coming up saturday and i really need to finish the bibs I have started. I might work on that today. But I also want to finish a stack of mending I have. AND a HUGE basket of ironing. Oh, on top of that I am having a diaper party at my house tomorrow so I have to clean up today. Jeez, so busy! But Ness is still getting his naps so no stress.

Michael has tried to go to two job fairs this past week. Both unsuccessful. The first he couldnt find (we found out later that its just a publicity stunt and not worth it anyway) and the second he couldnt attend because he had to already be a teacher..and he was the 130th! in line!!! They are having another one at the end of the month for new teachers..but why in the world would they hire a new teacher when they have 130+ to hire from?? The teaching market here is so saturated its not even funny. Except in Baton Rouge I guess...ugh.

Oh, we found a house that we really like (we werent looking, this just came along). It was so cheap which means it was a fixer upper. But my dad was willing to come and help and it would have been great. It was in the perfect location. Anyways, I called and got pre-approved for a loan, we are approved for up to 155,000 with what we make now...if we got a house for that price we would pay $1030 a month (less than rent) total including insurance and tax. But this house being $117,000 the monthly payment would have been $835! Wonderful! We would have had several hundred dollars a month extra to fix up the house. Anyways, I found out our credit was stellar (a score of 100 I believe) and everything was great. Well I get to the park where the loan guy tells me that I cant get a FHA loan unless the house is livable, the house was livable on every front except the fact that it didnt have flooring in the bedrooms. So in order to get the loan the bank handling the foreclosure (it was a foreclosure) would have to first fix the floors. Well the real-estate agent said that the bank refused to fix the floor and was selling it as is. Which means that we couldnt buy it. Im not sure how they would ever sell it if no one can get a loan for it! I guess you have to have cash?? Ugh..annoying. So we have stopped the search, it will be best to wait until this lease is up anyways. Oh well!

We had a fun Greek Food Night party at Robins house. The turnout was HUGE, like people from wall to wall. But it was fun. Ness got to play and take a bath with his friend Max, to bad he cried the whole time. If he didnt look so darn cute when he cried I would have deleted this..but..oh well!

This is the sling that a friend let us borrow, as you can tell Michael is not very excited about using it in public....oh well..this is the best sling ever, he needs to get used to it!
We took Ness to the mall to play in the play area, he had so much fun! It took him a while to warm up then he was off, crawling all over. It was so cute. We finished off that trip with some ice cream from Marble Slab (dont throw away that ValPack coupon envelope, it has a buy one get one free ice cream from Marble Slab in it!). Ness only got a few tiny bites but he definitely opened his mouth for that!
There was another baby his "age" we are not sure...he looked younger but Ness is so darn big its hard to tell. He was actually being goofy for the camera! This never happens.
A little girl started stalking him...it was fine until she started to pinch him (to get a reaction) but I nicely fussed at her and she ran away..lol.
Off topic, this is all the ingredients it takes to make a good healthy lunch..lots of work! This is it finished, it is worth it. (this is what we HAD been eating before the sickness)

Anyways! Enjoy!
