So busy!

Oh MAN! I know I say this a lot, but its true, we are so busy! Ness is growing up before our very eyes and I always feel like we are doing something! My sewing slowed for one day (yesterday) and although I SHOULD have sewn some things for when they are ordered I instead did other things like sweep the floor. But today I picked up about 9 chairs that I have to recover. There are many more where those came from. So that will start tomorrow I think because tonight I will sew. I drew a pattern for this super duper diaper bag and I am dying to try it out. This will be my biggest "design" yet, I have drawn patterns before but nothing this advanced..so we will see! Yesterday it hit me that Ness's birthday party is like 4 weeks away..aye! So I spent yesterday getting pictures printed for his birthday and today I went and got the supplies to make his invitations. His party is August 7th, at our house! I took these corn pictures because we are having corn on the cob and spaghetti which are two foods that Ness REALLY enjoys (you can see from the pictures). Below are some pictures of the nutty Ness, hes personality is really coming out..not sure if all of it is roses and sunshine...lol. We know hes VERY happy after he wakes from his nap, but then his mood slowly declines and he becomes more needy as his next naptime approaches. But he may be cutting teeth so that may be why hes been whiny too. He is also still doing the "sleepy biting"..he bites your shirt (or skin) if he gets tired..its so weird. He has only gotten my skin about 3 times but that was enough to make sure I nip this biting thing in the bud..but so far, no success.
Oh, also over the weekend he got a TERRIBLE rash, like make you cry terrible (which led to a few sleepless nights). I finally figured out that the cloth diapers having build up are what had caused it...so he is in paper diapers..its so weird for him to have such a skinny butt! But he only wore them during naps and at night during the day he was free as a bird! The rash is almost gone so I am now trying to rid the diapers of all buildup..they are soaking in boiling water as I type this.
Enjoy these next nutty ness pictures...he looks so old!!
Oh-today he learned how to stick out his tongue on command, he raises his hands up, or just raises one hand up, to point at the fan or light, he clearly says mama and bye bye (while waving)...and thats all for now I think...

Bananas and chocolate! Look how skinny he looks! He hasnt gained weight (still) and is almost 30 inches tall so he is growing!
For our summer vacation we went to Pensacola where Michael's family has a house, it was very nice even with the oil... This is a quick pic while talking the dogs out.
These pictures are always out of order. But I finally have labels! I love them! I had to sew a great deal on our vacation because I would have been REALLY behind, and I am really glad I did because even with sewing on vacation I still had a lot to do...

Quick family picture!
Family!
You can see that the sun is on its way down..as it goes down the inside of the house becomes blinding, you literally need sunglasses..but it was fun!
Ness enjoyed having his rear sprayed in the outdoor shower after his swim.
Gran-C bought Ness this cute bathing suit! Finally! No nasty sunscreen! She got him a hat too but we cant figure out how to keep it on his head...
Oil on the beaches..yuck...
This is the house, isnt it a beauty?
Right before our vacation my sister had her baby girl. I got to be there for the c-section, it was quite amazing. Her is Bronwen, still cheesy!
Dr. Melissa!

Anyways, hows that for a quick update? I probably should go iron...ok...adios!

Holy Moly, its been a long time!

I guess my excuse is that we have been really busy...and its a good one because we have! So to make up for it I am going to overload you with pictures, how does that sound?

First off, above is Ness 3 months ago. Look how much he has changed!! In the picture below he is 10 months (now 10.5). His personality hasnt changed, just intensified. He is still a very curious, mischievous yet quiet little boy. He is still a pretty picky eater, although he has NEVER said no to Miso Soup and water (just about everything else he has rejected at one time or other). He is not the biggest fan of cuddling but he does like to stay near and be as close to your feet as possible. Hes a pacifier thief (his mean mama only lets him have his at bedtime/naptime) and will steal a pacifier from another innocent baby in a matter of seconds. He also is a fan of glasses and mustaches. He is VERY smart (of course this is his mama talking), he can pick up on something very quickly (if he feels like it of course). For instance he learned how to suck from a straw in just a few tries and he can even blow on the Ocarina loud enough to make music! Today I taught him how to make a squeaky noise with the pacifier...now if I ever tried to show you these tricks, he, of course, wouldnt do them...not a performer thats for sure!

Below is one of the few family pictures we have. I need to get an appointment for a family picture...Im sad we dont have a good one!
This is me and Ness in the "moby" wrap..its the most comfy one out there...to bad I didnt have it when Ness was smaller...
Aunt Ashley came over and helped give Ness a bath!
This is Ness's first time in the pool...his face tells all. Although he now enjoys it more...he would just prefer to not be in the floaty.
Packing up! Ness and Daddy took a break from packing to play Ness's favorite game/peek-a-boo.
One of the many crazy Ness faces.
A quiet baby is usually not a good thing....he knew it was wrong too..his face was so guilty!
Dont tell Daddy that we play Wii while hes at work!
Ness with a few of his many girlfriends. This seemed to be the year of the girls..guess Ness missed the memo...
Ness was IN LOVE with this cute mini piano...(this was at a playdate).
The cloths line I made out back....Michael said it couldnt stay...I wonder why!
Pokey and Ness hanging out...this is their favorite spot.
Ness and a girlfriend!
Dorothy and Ness helping daddy make a phone call.
Ness and YET another girlfriend...this boy is going to have a tough time when he gets older!
My newest favorite picture...

And the BIGGEST NEWS OF ALL...WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! It was the spur of the moment but this house was way to good of a deal to pass out. And we havent regretted it for one second. Its basically everything we wanted (and more!). Its beautiful. And our neighbors have a baby about 2 weeks older than Ness..perfect! Also we got our electricity bill in today...it was $13 for 11 days! At the old house our first electricity bill was $150 for 11 days (and thats WITH us being cold and uncomfortable). Anyways, here she is..isnt she a beauty!?

Last news, Michael is now 27 years old! I made a german chocolate cake from scratch (Im about to go eat a piece now!) and it was AMAZING (if I do say so myself). And his parents took us out for sushi and it was delicious! He is also getting and ipad from them...but they are sold out now.
Anways, I HAVE to keep up with this blog!

Oh, my sewing business has just about "taken off"...Im am almost at the point where I cant take on any new projects..yay!

Happy 9 months Ness!

We are now in May and our baby Ness is 9 months old! Can you believe that he has been with us out of the womb as long as he was in? Its unbelievable. And good news is that he is just about right on track developmental wise (if you remember right, he was behind for a while because of the chub). He now is a speed crawler, can blow air out of his mouth, has two teeth, and is basically the cutest baby ever. He hasnt gained weight in a while and has only grown about an inch, the weight is tapering off. But hes a good boy, LOVE HIM!

I recently decided that he needed a cover to fit over the shopping cart because of all the gross stuff that hangs out there. So I bought a pattern and made him one. Dang pattern made the thing to small! But he can still sit in it and it covers the front bar that he likes to eat so I guess its ok. It also fits perfectly over those dirty little high chairs at restaurants. I could make it again and make it bigger..or I could even just add some material (which I might do one day) but for now its fine.

I have finished 4 out of 8 pillows that I needed to finish. I forgot to take pictures of the first two (a round one and a square one same color as the blue one here but with self piping), but here are the two I just finished. I think overall they came out pretty good..and this means money in my pocket! I have been so busy with sewing, I have another craft fair this coming up saturday and i really need to finish the bibs I have started. I might work on that today. But I also want to finish a stack of mending I have. AND a HUGE basket of ironing. Oh, on top of that I am having a diaper party at my house tomorrow so I have to clean up today. Jeez, so busy! But Ness is still getting his naps so no stress.

Michael has tried to go to two job fairs this past week. Both unsuccessful. The first he couldnt find (we found out later that its just a publicity stunt and not worth it anyway) and the second he couldnt attend because he had to already be a teacher..and he was the 130th! in line!!! They are having another one at the end of the month for new teachers..but why in the world would they hire a new teacher when they have 130+ to hire from?? The teaching market here is so saturated its not even funny. Except in Baton Rouge I guess...ugh.

Oh, we found a house that we really like (we werent looking, this just came along). It was so cheap which means it was a fixer upper. But my dad was willing to come and help and it would have been great. It was in the perfect location. Anyways, I called and got pre-approved for a loan, we are approved for up to 155,000 with what we make now...if we got a house for that price we would pay $1030 a month (less than rent) total including insurance and tax. But this house being $117,000 the monthly payment would have been $835! Wonderful! We would have had several hundred dollars a month extra to fix up the house. Anyways, I found out our credit was stellar (a score of 100 I believe) and everything was great. Well I get to the park where the loan guy tells me that I cant get a FHA loan unless the house is livable, the house was livable on every front except the fact that it didnt have flooring in the bedrooms. So in order to get the loan the bank handling the foreclosure (it was a foreclosure) would have to first fix the floors. Well the real-estate agent said that the bank refused to fix the floor and was selling it as is. Which means that we couldnt buy it. Im not sure how they would ever sell it if no one can get a loan for it! I guess you have to have cash?? Ugh..annoying. So we have stopped the search, it will be best to wait until this lease is up anyways. Oh well!

We had a fun Greek Food Night party at Robins house. The turnout was HUGE, like people from wall to wall. But it was fun. Ness got to play and take a bath with his friend Max, to bad he cried the whole time. If he didnt look so darn cute when he cried I would have deleted this..but..oh well!

This is the sling that a friend let us borrow, as you can tell Michael is not very excited about using it in public....oh well..this is the best sling ever, he needs to get used to it!
We took Ness to the mall to play in the play area, he had so much fun! It took him a while to warm up then he was off, crawling all over. It was so cute. We finished off that trip with some ice cream from Marble Slab (dont throw away that ValPack coupon envelope, it has a buy one get one free ice cream from Marble Slab in it!). Ness only got a few tiny bites but he definitely opened his mouth for that!
There was another baby his "age" we are not sure...he looked younger but Ness is so darn big its hard to tell. He was actually being goofy for the camera! This never happens.
A little girl started stalking him...it was fine until she started to pinch him (to get a reaction) but I nicely fussed at her and she ran away..lol.
Off topic, this is all the ingredients it takes to make a good healthy lunch..lots of work! This is it finished, it is worth it. (this is what we HAD been eating before the sickness)

Anyways! Enjoy!
